Given the expression;

(17)/(33).(3)/(5)

This is a multiplication. The dot (or period) is used to denote multiplication in math. Hence, we would have;

\begin{gathered} (17)/(33)*(3)/(5)\Rightarrow(17)/(11)*(1)/(5) \\ \text{This can also be re-written as;} \\ (17*1)/(11*5)\Rightarrow(17)/(55) \end{gathered}

The answer therefore is 17/55

(17)/(55)

**Note that, while solving the fraction at the first step, the number 3 cancels out itself while at the same time reduces 33 to 11 (that is 3 goes into 33 eleven times)**
