To find the equation in slope-intercept form for his line, first you have to write the general equation:

y=\text{ m}\cdot x+b

The slope is mentioned in the statement and is m= -3/4

So

y=-(3)/(4)\cdot x+b

Then replacing the coordinates of the point in the equation

\begin{gathered} 5=-(3)/(4)\cdot8+b \\ 5=-6+b \\ 11=b \end{gathered}

So the equation is y = - 3/4 . x + 11

(\square)/(\square)
