In order to find the name of the compound we have to follow a few rules:

1. Finding the main chain, and how many carbons there are in this chain. The main chain it will be the one with the largest amount of carbons. In our case we don't have an easy and clear main chain, since we have the same amount of carbons pointing at 3 sides. If we count the number of carbons we will have 5, which is named Pent.

2. Do we have double or triple bonds? If the answer is no we can readily use the suffix ane, therefore we have a Pentane

3. Now we can look at whatever else we have outside of the main chain, and we can identify two things, an ethyl group (CH2 - CH3), connected to the center Carbon and also a Chlorine element connected to the same center carbon. Center carbon will receive the number 3, if we count the carbons this would be its number.

Therefore the final name will be: 3 - Chloro - 3 - Ethylpentane
