The general expression for the nth term of sequence is,


a_n=a+(n-1)d

Substitute 23 for n, 5 for a and 7 for d in the expression to determine the 23th term of airthmetic sequance.


\begin{gathered} a_(23)=5+(23-1)\cdot7 \\ =5+22\cdot7 \\ =5+154 \\ =159 \end{gathered}

So 23rd term of sequance is 159.
