Remember pemdas (bodmas)

Write out the equation

-8 - 7x = 11

Get rid of the 8 by canceling it with the number oposite of it ( positive 8) this step is to isolate the variable. Make sure to do this on both sides

-8 + 8 - 7x = 8 + 111 ——> -7x = 119

Isolate the x by doing the same operation as last time.

-7x ÷ -7 = 119 ÷ -7

x = -17

If you have any questions let me know.

Sorry if this is incorrect.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the equation:

-8-7x=111

To solve for x, first of all, add 8 to both sides of the equation:

\begin{gathered} -8-7x+8=111+8 \\ \\ -7x=119 \end{gathered}

Divide both sides by -7

\begin{gathered} (-7x)/(-7)=(119)/(-7) \\ \\ x=-(119)/(7) \end{gathered}
