The algebraic representation (x,y) → (x, y - 4) mean for a translated figure means the x-coordinates of the vertices remains the same while 4 is subtracted from the y-coordinates

In other word, the x-coodinates of the vertex remains the same, while the y-coordinates is moved 4 units downward
