The volume of a rectangular prism like that on the figure is given by the product of each of its dimentions (length, width and height):


V=l\cdot w\cdot h

Substitute l=5inches, w=4inches, and h=3inches:


V=(5\text{inches})(4\text{ inches})(3\text{ inches})

Multiply those numbers to find the value of the volume:


V=60inches^3

Therefore, the volume of the light fixture is 60 cubic inches.
