y=x^3-2

For x = i

where:

\begin{gathered} i=\sqrt[]{-1} \\ \end{gathered}

so:

\begin{gathered} y=i^3-2 \\ y=(\sqrt[]{-1})^3-2 \\ y=(\sqrt[]{-1})^2(\sqrt[]{-1})-2 \\ y=-1(\sqrt[]{-1})-2 \\ y=-i-2 \\ so\colon \\ y=-2-i \end{gathered}

Answer:

-2-i
