The area is 428.9 millimeters square

Mathematically, the formula to find the area of a sector with a central angle is ;

A\text{ = }(\theta)/(360)\text{ }*\text{ }\pi\text{ }* r^2

where theta is the angle subtended at the centre of the circle which is 170 degrees, pi is 22/7 and r is the radius of the circle which is 17 mm

\begin{gathered} A\text{ = }(170)/(360)\text{ }*\frac{22}{7\text{ }}\text{ }*17^2 \\ \\ A\text{ = }(1080860)/(2520)=428.9mm^2 \end{gathered}
