Consider that the slope of a line passing through two given points, is given by the formula,

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

So the slope of line passing through the points (5,4) and (0,1) is calculated as,

\begin{gathered} m=(1-4)/(0-5) \\ m=(-3)/(-5) \\ m=(3)/(5) \end{gathered}

Thus, the slope of straight lines passing through (5,4) and (0,1) is 3/5 .

Similarly, the slope of line passing through the points (3,7) and (-2,2) is calculated as,

\begin{gathered} m=(2-7)/(-2-3) \\ m=(-5)/(-5) \\ m=1 \end{gathered}

Thus, the slope of line passing through the points (3,7) and (-2,2) is 1 .
