The equation given is,

2(ax+3)=4x-3(4x+8)

Solving for a

Expand the terms

\begin{gathered} 2* ax+2*+3=4x-3*4x-3*+8 \\ 2ax+6=4x-12x-24 \\ 2ax+6=-8x-24 \end{gathered}

Comparing the two sides of the equation

2ax=-8x

Divide both sides by 2x

\begin{gathered} (2ax)/(2x)=-(8x)/(2x) \\ a=-4 \end{gathered}

Hence, the value of a for which there is no solution to the equation is

a=-4
