we have the expression


y=x^2+x-4

Remember that


i^2=-1

Evaluate

For x=2i

substitute


y=(2i)^2+2i-4
y=4i^2+2i-4
\begin{gathered} y=4(-1)+2i-4_{} \\ y=-4+2i-4 \\ y=-8+2i \end{gathered}
