In general, the formula to calculate the distance between two points on the plane is

\begin{gathered} (x_1,y_1),(x_2,y_2) \\ \Rightarrow distance=√((x_1-x_2)^2+(y_1-y_2)^2) \end{gathered}

Therefore, in our case,

\begin{gathered} (16,-3),(2,-5) \\ \Rightarrow distance=√((16-2)^2+(-3+5)^2)=√(14^2+2^2)=√(200)=10√(2)\approx14.142135... \end{gathered}

The exact value is 10sqrt(2), about 14.142135...
