The slope of a Line

Suppose we know the line passes through points A(x1,y1) and B(x2,y2). The slope can be calculated with the equation:

\displaystyle m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

We are given the points (16,3) and (14,-19). Find the slope of the line passing through them.

Substituting the values of the coordinates:

\displaystyle m=(-19-3)/(14-16)=(-22)/(-2)=11

The slope of the line is 11
