Answer:

Explanation:

W = Width

L = Length

A = LW

We know that the width is seven less than twice the length so we substitute it in the equation

A= (L)(2L-7)

We also know that the area is 30, so we substitute that too!

20=(L)(2L-7)

Combine like terms!

3L - 7 = 20 → 3L = 27

Divide both sides by 3.

L = 9

We're almost done! Now we plug the length back into the width equation to find the width:

W= 2(9) - 7

W= 18 - 7

W= 11

Therefore, the length of the rectangle is 9 and the width is 11. Hope this helps!
