5. There are 20 random box lunches at a conference for teachers. They are all the same except 10 ofthe lunches have peanut butter cookies, 5 have snicker doodle cookies, and the last 5 boxes havechocolate chip. Knowing this a math teacher realizes that he has a 25% chance of randomlypicking a box with a chocolate chip cookie. What type of probability did the teacher use?A. Authentic ProbabilityB. Subjective ProbabilityC. Empirical ProbabilityD. Theoretical Probability

It is given that there are 20 lunchboxes, 10 of the lunches have peanut butter cookies, 5 have snicker doodle cookies, and the last 5 boxes have chocolate chip.

The formula that the math teacher used is:

P(A)=(n(A))/(n(S))

Here event A is getting chocolate chip cookies, n(A)=5 is the total number of cases with chocolate chip cookies and n(S) is total number of lunchboxes so it follows:

P(A)=(5)/(20)=(1)/(4)

Now 1/4 is 25% and the formula is of theorotical probability.

Option D is correct.
