Given:

There is a box without a lid.

The base is 4 feet by 3 feet

And the height = 2 feet

We will find the number of square feet of cardboard to make the box

So, we will find the lateral area + base area

The lateral area = perimeter of the base times the height

So, the lateral area =

2(4+3)*2=28\text{ }ft^2

The area of the base = 4 x 3 = 12 sqaure feet.

So, the cardboard area = 28 + 12 = 40 square feet.

So, the answer will be 40 sqaure feet
