A function is a relationship between numbers. We provide the function an input, thet we call x, and give us an output, which wee call f(x)

The inverse of a function, f^-1(x), does the opposite. Tell us which value of x would return certain value of f(x)

Then, if the inverse of a function give us the output 4, this means that the value of x = 4, because tha inverse of a function give us an x value.

\text{If }x=4,\text{ then }f(4)=3

Applying the inverse function:

f^(-1)(3)=4

the value of x = 4
