REVIEW-2 Extra 2-D Collisions/Explosions#1. Three objects are blown apart in an explosion where all were at rest before the explosion. A 6kgpiece flies off at 5m/s as shown. A 4kg piece flies off at 7m/s as shown. Find the velocity of the thirdpiece if it has a mass of 1.5kg.N6kg5m/sW-- E4575°7m/sS4kg

Given data:

The mass of piece 1 is m₁=6 kg.

The mass of piece 2 is m₂=4 kg.

The mass of third piece is m₃=1.5 kg.

The velocity of piece 1 is v₁=5 m/s with angle 45 of west.

The velocity of piece 2 is v₂=5 m/s with angle 75 of east.

Initially all the masses are at rest therefore the initial velocity is zero, i.e. v=0.

In the explosion the momentum of all the particle remains constant. Applying the conservation of momentum before and after the collision in horizontal direction as,
