It costs Karen $20 to make each of her wooden display cases & $300 to advertise them.  If she sells the cases for $30 each, write & solve a break-even equation that shows when her costs will equal her revenue.

The cost function is

20x+300

where x is the number of wooden cases made

the revenue function is

30x

where x is the number of wooden cases sold

\begin{gathered} 30x=20x+300\rightarrow \\ 30x-20x=300\rightarrow \\ 10x=300 \\ x=(300)/(10)=30 \end{gathered}

so she has to make and sell 30 wooden cases to get her costs and revenue equals
