A quadratic equation has the form y = ax² + bx + c, when its solution are evaluated y = 0 and the equation is written like this:

0 = ax² + bx + c

In this case, we already have the coefficients of the above equation:

0 = 2x² - 7x - 4

Then, a = 2, b = -7 and c = -4 and the quadratic equation is 0 = 2x² - 7x - 4
