- this was motivational to me because Leka is showing him that he doesn't need to do that to fill anyone's shoes and to do as he pleases.

2.“ They were very pretty, those little glass roses, I need only

close my eyes and I can see them.”

-The roses i believe represent more than just being glass roses, innocence. Leka wishing to preserve stephen's childhood innocence mentions this even though the roses were shattered it'll always be there. Meaning that he seeks to protect his innocence while Stephen's father seeks to destroy it.
