For this case we can determine the sample space given by:

S={1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8}

And we want to find the probability that we obtaine a 1 or 8 if we use the spinner twice.

The number of success cases in order to obtain a 1 is 1 out of 8 so then the probability of success is given by:

p=(1)/(8)

The same probability we got for an 8 , 1/8 and if we consider independent events we can calculate the overall probability with this:

P(1and8)=(1)/(8)\cdot(1)/(8)=(1)/(64)

The best answer would be C 1/64
