Santa's rectangular lawn measures 25 yards by 33 yards. He wants to plant 1/3 of the yard with ground cover so that he will have less to mow. How many square yards would be planted with ground cover?

We have a rectangle therefore we will use the next formula to calculate the area

A=l* w

where l is the length and w is the width

In our case

l=33 yards

w= 25 yards

We substitute the values

undefined
