The surface area of a regular cylinder is given by the following formula.

A_{\text{surface}}=2(r^2\pi)+(2r\pi)h

Where r is the radius and h is the height of the cylinder. In our case,

\begin{gathered} r=4 \\ h=3 \\ \Rightarrow A_{\text{surface}}=2(16\pi)+2(4\pi)\cdot3=32\pi+24\pi=56\pi \\ \Rightarrow A_{\text{surface}}=56\pi \end{gathered}

The answer is 56pi ft^2
