A farmer has farmland that is a rectangle 4km long and 2.5km wide. He wants to completely cover the farmland on dirt. He knows the area of each truck load of dirt covers, but only in square miles. Find the area of the farmland in square miles. Do not round intermediate computations and round your final answer two decimal places. Use the table of conversion facts as needed

Given:

length of the rectangle = 4 km

width = 2.5 km.

Converting both measures to mi:

\begin{gathered} 4km*(1mi)/(1.61km)=2.48548mi \\ \\ 2.5km*(1mi)/(1.61km)=1.55343mi \end{gathered}

Area:

2.48548*1.55343=3.86mi^2

ANSWER

Area = 3.86 miĀ²
