Kennedy

y = 23.2x

y = miles

x = gallons

Per 1 gallon

y = 23.2(1)

y = 23.2 miles

Per 1 gallon, Kennedy can travel 23.2 miles

Carson

3 gallons ----------------- 127.5 mi

1 gallon ----------------- x

x = (1 x 127.5) /3

x = 42.4 miles

Per 1 gallon, Carson can travel 42.5 miles

Carson can travel 19.3 mmore miles than Kennedy on one gallon of gas.
