The given expression is,

y = f(x)

This mean that the value of the function is the value that correponds to the y value for a particular x.

From the graph we can see that,


\begin{gathered} y=f(x)\Rightarrow y\text{ for that value of x} \\ \\ f(0)\Rightarrow when\text{ x =0, the value of y} \\ y=f(0)=2 \end{gathered}

Thus, f(0) = 2.
