Given that the variables vary inversely, then we have to use the following equation.

y=(k)/(x)

Where k is the constant of proportionality. So, we have to replace x = 5 and y = 2 to find k.

\begin{gathered} 2=(k)/(5) \\ k=2\cdot5 \\ k=10 \end{gathered}

Once we have the constant, we can find y when x = 3.

y=(10)/(3)

Hence, when x = 3, y = 10/3.
