He plans to make a scale drawing of the sign to submit to the town council. The length of each side of a yield sign is 36 inches. If Wes draws the sign using a scale of 1 inch to 12 inches, how long will each side of the sign be in the drawing?

If you divide 36 by 12 you get 3 so each side will be 3 inches using a 1:12 scale or set it up as 1/12=x/36 so cross multiply and you get equation 12x=36 divide by 12 and x=3
