Given:

the slide is 7 feet due west of the tire swing and 7 feet due south of the monkey bars.

As we know east and west are perpendiculars

So, the distance will be the hypotenuse of a right triangle with legs of 7 feet

So, using the Pythagorean theorem

The distance = d, will be calculated as follows:

\begin{gathered} d^2=7^2+7^2=2\cdot7^2 \\ \\ d=\sqrt[]{2\cdot7^2}=7\sqrt[]{2}\approx9.899 \end{gathered}

Rounding to the nearest tenth

so, the answer will be distance = 9.9 feet
