Using elimination method:


\begin{gathered} (1)+(2) \\ 3x+2x+4y-4y=-10 \\ 5x=-10 \\ \text{divide both sides by 5:} \\ (5x)/(5)=-(10)/(5) \\ x=-2 \\ \text{ Replace x into (1)} \\ 3(-2)+4y=-2 \\ 4y=4 \\ \text{divide both sides by 4:} \\ (4y)/(4)=(4)/(4) \\ y=1 \end{gathered}
