In ASTU, the measure of ZU=90°, the measure of ZS=25°, and US = 15 feet. Find the length of ST to the nearest tenth of a foot.

In triangle STU


\begin{gathered} m\angle U=90 \\ m\angle S=25 \end{gathered}

And also the length of US is 15 feet

Since the right angle is U, then the hypotenuse is ST

Since SU is adjacent to < S, then we can use the cosine ratio


\cos S=(adj)/(hyp)

Adjacent is SU = 15

m< S = 25 degrees
