Sexual reproduction is a reproduction that involves the sperm and egg cells to combine in order to produce a zygote that eventually develops into an organisms. It is important in the reproduction process because the combination of genes will give way to a great diversity of species. This type of reproduction may result in the production of different offspring possessing varied genetic characteristics. The mixing of genetic materials is a chance for evolution to take place. The possibility of a new species to be born and new desirable traits to be formed are among the advantages of sexual reproduction. Asexual reproduction is producing a great increase in the numbers of offspring. It is a rapid way of reproduction. But the advantages that sexual reproduction can contribute to diversity of life is not present.
