The hypotenuse of a right triangle measures 15 cm and one of its legs measures 3 cm. Find the measure of the other leg. If necessary, round to the nearest tenth.

To find the missing leg we have to use the pythagorical theorem so.


15^2=3^2+x^2

and we solve for x so:


\begin{gathered} x=\sqrt[]{225-9} \\ x=\sqrt[]{216} \\ x=14.7 \end{gathered}
