we have y = x + 2

our equation is y = x + 2

y is dependent on x

we have x to be -2, -1 0, 1 and 2

for x = -2

y = -2 + 2

y = 0

for x = -1

y = -1 + 2

y = 1

for x = 0

y = 0 + 2

y = 2

for x = 1

y = 1 + 2

y = 3

for x = 2

y = 2 + 2

y = 4

From the values of x and y gotten, we can observe that y increases as x increases

Therefore the equation is a function

x -2 -1 0 1 2

y 0 1 2 3 4
