We can write the inequalities with the biggest and smaller value of x and y so for x the biggest value is 4 and the smallest one is 0 so

0\le x\le4

and for y the maximun value is 6 and the minumun value is -2 so:

-2Now for the area of the triangle we need the base (B) and the hight (H). So the base will be the domain of x so[tex]B=4-0=4

and the hight is the range of y so:

H=6-(-2)=8

Now we can calculate the area (A) with the formula:

\begin{gathered} A=(B\cdot H)/(2) \\ A=(4\cdot8)/(2) \\ A=16 \end{gathered}
