Answer:

y=11.83x+4.05

134.18 in 2006

Explanation:

So when he retired it was worth 4.05 dollars so we can put it in the equation:

y=4.05

For the value

However, it states "The value has increased by 11.83 each year"

Thus we can put the equation as

y=11.83x+4.05

To represent the money value increasing each year.

For question two the question is asking for how much the card cost at 2006

Since it was retired in 1995, we can subtract that with 2006

Which is 11 years

Now subsitute x with 11

11.83 times 11 is 130.13

130.13 plus 4.05 is 134.18

Hope this helps!

Answer:

y=11.83x+4.05, not proportional because of the starting cost, 134.18

Explanation:

y=11.83x+4.05

4.05 is original cost and 11.83 is amount it increases

2006-1995=11

11.83(11)+4.05=134.18
