Given the equation for this expression

\begin{gathered} x^2\text{ - 13 = -1} \\ x^2\text{ = -1 +13} \\ x^2\text{ = 12} \end{gathered}

The value of x

\begin{gathered} x^2\text{ = 12} \\ \text{square root both side} \\ x\text{ = }\sqrt[]{12} \\ x\text{ = 2}\sqrt[]{3} \end{gathered}

Hence the value of x = 2√3
