\begin{gathered} d=r* t \\ (d)/(t)=(r* t)/(t) \\ \\ r=(d)/(t) \end{gathered}

B. we just replace the vlues of t=1.5 and d=72

\begin{gathered} r=(72)/(1.5) \\ \\ r=48(m)/(h) \end{gathered}

the rate of speed is 48 miles per hour
