We want to solve

(1)/(3)x+(4)/(9)=(7)/(9)

We can subtract 4/9 on both sides.

\begin{gathered} (1)/(3)x+(4)/(9)-(4)/(9)=(7)/(9)-(4)/(9) \\ \\ (1)/(3)x=(7)/(9)-(4)/(9) \\ \\ (1)/(3)x=(7-4)/(9) \\ \\ (1)/(3)x=(3)/(9) \end{gathered}

Now we have 3/9 on the right side, but we can simplify that fraction to 1/3

\begin{gathered} (1)/(3)x=(3)/(9) \\ \\ (1)/(3)x=(1)/(3) \end{gathered}

And now we have the result!

x=1

Therefore the final result is x = 1
