Total amount James has to spend =$25

amount spent on nachos= $ 8.50

amount for 1 soda =$ 2.50

amount for 1 sour straws = $1.25

let the sour straws be represented by X.

since he purchased more than 1 sour straw, then the total amount spent on sour straw will be =

$1.25 multiplied by X

= > 1.25x

representing this in algebraic form, we will obtain : amount on nachos + amount on sour straw + amount on soda =

=> 8.5 + 1.25x + 2.5

=> 8.5 + 1.25x + 2.5

=> 1.25x + 11

To express this expression in inequalitiy,

1.25x + 11 is less than or equal to total amount james has to spend because $25 is the maximum he can spend.

Therefore:

1.25x\text{ + 11 }\leq25
