To calculate the volume of this prism, we just have to calculate the area of the trapezoidal face and multiply by the length of the prism.

In another words, multiply the area of the blue trapezoid by the green length.

The area of a trapezoid is given by half the sum of the basis times the height

A=((B+b)h)/(2)

The bigger base of our trapezoid measures 6 yd, the smaller base measures 2 yd, and the height measures 3.5 yd. Using those values in our formula, we have:

A=((6+2)*3.5)/(2)=14

Then, multiplying by the green length, we have the volume:

V=A*6=14*6=84

The volume of this prism is 84 yd³. The answer is option D.
