The volume of a Prism

The volume of a prism is calculated as:

V=(1)/(3)BH

Where B is the area of the base and H is the height of the prism.

The base of the prism is a rectangle of 9 ft by 5.2 ft, thus its base area is:

B=9\text{ ft}*5.2\text{ ft =46.8 }ft^2

We are given the volume V = 655.2 cubic ft, thus we can find the height by solving for H:

\begin{gathered} H=(3V)/(B) \\ H=\frac{3\cdot655.2\text{ }ft^3}{46.8\text{ }ft^2} \\ H=42\text{ ft} \end{gathered}

The height of the prism is 42 ft
