The volume of a cone of radius r and height h is:

V=(1)/(3)\pi r^2h

The radius is half the diameter:

r=(10yd)/(2)=5yd

The height is h = 10 yd. Substitute the values in the formula:

V=(1)/(3)\pi(5yd)^2(10yd)

Calculating:

\begin{gathered} V=(1)/(3)\pi(25yd^2)(10yd) \\ V=(250\pi)/(3)yd^3 \end{gathered}

Calculating the approximate value to the nearest tenth:

V = 261.8 cubic yd
