The equation of a function is y= mx + c

y = f(x)

m = 1/5

c = -3

so that

f(x) = 1/5x - 3

If the function was translated 5 units up then

f(x) +5 = 1/5x -3 +5

f(x) + 5 = g(x)

so that

g(x)= 1/5x + 2

therefore k = 2

Option C
