we have the expression


(-2.48)/(12.4)

Multiply the fraction by 100/100 to remove decimal numbers


(-2.48)/(12.4)\cdot(100)/(100)=-(248)/(1,240)

Simplify the fraction


-(248)/(1,240)=-(1)/(5)

Part b

we have the expression


(-12.5)/(-0.025)

Multiply the expression by 1,000/1,000 to remove decimal numbers

so


(-12.5)/(-0.025)\cdot(1000)/(1000)=(12,500)/(25)

Simplify


(12,500)/(25)=(500)/(1)=500
