the equation is of the form y = mx + b , therefore

(y)/(-4)=-x+1
\begin{gathered} (y)/(-4)*-4=(-x+1)*(-4) \\ y=(-x*-4)+(1*-4) \\ y=4x-4 \end{gathered}
