the money given by joe to hector is 125$

let the hector works for x weeks,

it is given that hector earns 50$ in a week,

so the total money hector wants to save is 1100$

now

1100=50x+125

from the above inequality, we will find x

\begin{gathered} 1100-125=50x \\ 50x=975 \\ x=19.5 \end{gathered}

it means the hector will work for 20 weeks in order to earn 1100$.
