x\text{ = }(y-b)/(m)

Here, we want to make x the subject of the formula

We have this as;

\begin{gathered} y\text{ = mx + b} \\ \\ y-b\text{ = mx} \\ \\ x\text{ = }(y-b)/(m) \end{gathered}
